Your Way to the Congress Venue

From Vienna International Airport


The taxi stand at the airport is at the exit of the arrival hall. It takes about half an hour’s ride to get to the city centre (approximately € 30 - 35).

Airport Bus Shuttle

There are regular buses from the airport to
■ Wien Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz (with connection to underground lines U1 and U4)
■ Wien Dörfelstraße/Meidling (with connection to underground line U6)
■ Wien Westbahnhof (with connection to underground lines U3 and U6)

The bus station is directly in front of the airport arrival hall. Buses leave every 20 to 30 minutes. It takes around 30 minutes to get to Vienna. Tickets (€ 8) can be bought on the bus or from the ticket machine. Please note that tickets are only valid for the shuttle bus and not for public transport in Vienna.

Participants who want to go directly to the congress venue from the airport are advised to take the airport bus to Wien Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz. Then take tram line 1, direction Stefan-Fadinger-Platz, and get off at stop Schottentor. For your return trip, tickets will be sold at the “Social Programme Counter”. Bus schedule


To get to the train, please follow the sign “S-Bahn“ in the airport arrival hall. Take the line S7, get off at Wien Mitte - Landstraße, change to the underground line U3, direction Ottakring. Get off at Volkstheater, change to the underground line U2, direction Schottenring. Get off at Schottentor-Universität (Main Building). The ticket (for two zones!) can be bought at the ticket machine in the train station (about € 4).

City Airport Train (CAT)

From the airport nonstop to the City Air Terminal (Wien-Mitte/Landstraße Underground Stations U3 and U4) in the centre of Vienna. A running time of only 16 minutes makes the CAT the fastest possibility to get from the airport to the city centre. Every half hour from 6:05 to 23:35 from the airport, between 5:38 and 23:08 from the City Air Terminal where passengers can also check in. Single ticket € 8/ Return ticket € 15. More information at

From the Railway Stations

Wien Westbahnhof

Take the underground line U3, direction Simmering, to Volkstheater, then change to the underground line U2, direction Schottenring. Get off at Schottentor-Universität (Main Building).

Wien Meidling / Philadelphiabrücke

Take underground line U6 direction Floridsdorf, to Westbahnhof, then change to the underground line U3, direction Simmering. Get off at Volkstheater and change to tram number 1 or D. Get off at Schottentor.

Car Parking


There are no car parks available at the University of Vienna. In the city centre of Vienna, parking charges apply. If you arrive by car, you can use the nearby car parks:
■ Votivpark-Garage (open 24/7): € 3.70 per hour, max. € 37/day
■ Parkgarage Rathauspark (open 24/7): € 4 per hour, max. € 40/day

The University of Vienna is located in the immediate vicinity of the underground station of line U2 and the tram stations of lines 1, 2, 37, 38, 40, 41, 42, 43, and D. Your Way to the Musikverein (Opening Ceremony)

The Musikverein is located at Musikvereinsplatz 1, 1010 Vienna. You can reach the Musikverein with the following means of public transport:
■ Underground lines U1, U2, U4, get off at Karlsplatz, exit Bösendorferstraße
■ Tram lines 1, 2, D, 62, get off at Kärntner Ring / Oper
■ Tram line 71, get off at last stop Schwarzenbergplatz
