This minisymposium invites delegates from both academia and industry to discuss recent developments in the field of crash and impact simulation. The focus is on method development, basic research and basic so-called "pilot type" applications; sophisticated applications are also welcome. Potential topics are discretization methods and algorithms for dynamic contact, time integration, finite element technology, mathematical modeling and model reduction. Of high interest are also topics like numerical stability and artificial sensitivity to the computational environment.
