The minisymposium refers to unsaturated porous media and related applications in the field of engineering mechanics. The aim is to bring together researchers and practical engineers, and to provide a forum for presentation and for discussion of the present state-of-the-art and of novel developments. Models across all methodologies, across all length and time scales, and across all physical phenomena relevant in unsaturated porous media are welcome. Innovative approaches increasing insight into complex phenomena as well as predictive models increasing safety and efficiency in practical applications are especially encouraged.
